Puma & The Dolphin make a welcome return to Invisible Inc and once again deliver the goods.

Opening track “Golden Coast” is a hypnotic and subtly acid-tinged tribal rhythm machine, followed by “I’m Just Too Shy” which previously made an appearance on one of soFa’s elsewhere compilations but fits into this EP perfectly. Third track “German Pavilion” is a synthy/bassy electro psych groover with a sly nod to Kraftwerk while closing track “Naked Gum” is a poignant downtempo piece of beauty that could go on for twice as long as it does.

Worth mentioning here that the Phantom Impulses EP has all come together rather quickly, which is exciting. It actually only just got inserted into the release schedule just over a week ago, shortly after new year. It was mastered just 5 nights ago and the artwork started 3 days ago...so it's happening fast. It's a refreshing feeling when you think about the slow pace of the vinyl situation at the moment. Kind of like how it should be (and how it used to be with DIY private presses back in the day).

This also means very little time to promote the release. However, "Golden Coast" was featured on Optimo's recent show for Ransom Note on Kiosk Radio so... off to a good start.
